My dad’s first name was John. When he went to work for PPG in their  R&D department there were already several “Johns” working there.  Since he was the new kid on the block, circa 1950’s, they called him JJ  at work. He always introduced himself as John everywhere else so  when we kids first heard someone call him JJ, it struck us as very odd.  Those were the days when “The Twilight Zone”, “My Favorite Martian”,  & “The Man From UNCLE” were popular television series. It wasn’t hard  for a child’s imagination to run wild when they discovered their dad  had an alias! Add to that the fact that he was quite a storyteller.   In today’s text Paul tells us there have actually been two Adams. The  first Adam was created by God out of dust. The second Adam came  from heaven to rescue us from the damage the first Adam did. It stinks  that our original ancestor blew it ushering in a world of hurt, frustration  & death. Thank God for the second Adam who came so that this life  isn’t the end of the story!
